Nature Retreats

from only

Our Nature Fitness & Wellness Retreats take a holistic approach to promote a healthy lifestyle. We cater to individuals who already lead an active lifestyle and seek to continue their fitness and adventure journey. Our programs feature a diverse range of fitness activities and classes, as well as cultural and local attractions. Our retreats are not your typical “three fitness classes a day” type; we prioritize wellness and adventure equally alongside fitness.

Our retreat is ideal for those who want to try something new while remaining active. For example, each guest will receive a bicycle to use throughout the week, encouraging exploration beyond the guest house.

The retreat is situated in the Asklipion Valley, the location of the first hospital where Hippocrates established the Medical Oath. Our accommodation, the Asklipion Valley Guest House, is rich in Greek culture, with each studio or apartment uniquely designed and furnished. Most of our rooms come with a terrace or balcony that provides breathtaking views. Whether you’re travelling alone, with a friend, or partner, you will feel at home in the Asklipion Valley Guest House.

Visit our location page to find out more about the paradise you are heading to.

The incredible Activities involved:

A bike ride to the Island’s natural spa/springs.

Therma beach is located about 16km away from our retreat, and the journey there offers incredible photo opportunities along the way. Upon reaching the destination, you will find the hot springs, a true gem that contains elements such as Potassium, Sodium, Calcium, Magnesium, Sulfur, and Chlorine, ideal for treating rheumatism, arthritis, and gynaecological-related issues. Although the route can be challenging in some places, it is achievable for those who like to stay fit. There are a few uphill moments, but remember, what goes up must come down, giving you some time to recuperate. The total distance of the route is around 32km, and we will take a well-deserved break halfway, allowing you to soak up the benefits of the natural spring.

For those who are not comfortable with long bike rides, an E-Bike upgrade is available upon request – please ask for details.

A Hike to the highest point of the island, Dikeos mountain.

Starting from the charming mountain village of Zia, we embark on an uphill climb up Dikeos mountain, reaching its highest peak at 846m. Although it may not be considered very high for experienced mountaineers, the breathtaking views at the summit of Dikeos are truly spectacular. On a clear day, you can even catch a glimpse of Samos Island, which is approximately 90km away. Even on less clear days, the views of the neighbouring islands and Turkey are still awe-inspiring. The hike will take about 2 hours to reach the top and 2 hours to descend, with plenty of time to soak in the scenery at your leisure. As you trek through nature, you’ll get to experience the best of Greece’s hiking trails. Upon returning to Zia, take some time to explore the village, browse the local shops, and relax at one of the charming cafes or restaurants.

There is an additional activity* day where you can experience an activity of your choice.  These activities could include:

  • Horse Riding on the Beach,
  • Windsurfing at one of the local windsurfing centres, or
  • A pamper day at the traditional Artemis Hamam located in the village of Tigaki.
  • Mosaic creation with our Guest House host Anastasia

And, if none of these activities takes your fancy you are free to organise your day, maybe you want a beach day or fancy a shopping trip to Turkey, the day is yours to explore as you wish.

*All activities on this day will not be included in the price of the retreat, and are subject to availability. Please ask for further details.

As well to all these incredible activities there will be a scheduled Fitness program which includes;

  • Pilates
  • Yoga
  • Cross Training
  • Boxing
  • TRX
  • HIIT
  • and Kettlebells

Make sure to allocate some time to rest and appreciate the island’s beauty and the guest house gardens.

All activities are entirely optional, so you have the freedom to choose which ones you’d like to participate in. If hiking is not your cup of tea, you can opt for a leisurely bike ride instead and spend a few hours soaking up the sun on the stunning sandy beaches, or take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters.

What to expect each day…

Day 1

Upon arrival at Kos Airport, a transfer will be arranged to take you to the Asklipion Valley Guest House, which is approximately 30-45 minutes away. Your host, Gilly, will be there to welcome you and show you to your accommodation for the week. You will have some time to settle in and familiarize yourself with the surroundings. Additionally, your allocated bicycle for the week will be introduced to you.

Later at around 6 pm, the group will gather for an orientation session where you will be introduced to your fitness instructor/assistant host. This is also an opportunity for you to meet your fellow retreaters and get a detailed plan for the exciting week ahead. Onsite meals are available for your convenience.

If you happen to arrive after 6 pm, don’t worry as there will still be an evening meal waiting for you, and you can meet the group during breakfast.

Day 2

At 8 am, there will be an optional fitness class available for those interested. Remember, everything is voluntary, and you can participate in whatever you prefer. After the class, a buffet breakfast will be served between 9 am and 10 am, so feel free to take your time.

There are no other scheduled activities until 5 pm, when an evening fitness class will be held, followed by a delectable BBQ. To end the day on a peaceful note, there will be a sunset yoga or Pilates session. During your free time, you can explore nearby attractions, such as the Asklepion, which is only a short distance away.

Day 3

On Day 3, we will have an early start as we embark on a guided bike ride to the famed Thermal springs of Kos. The total distance of the bike ride is approximately 30km, but we will take a break midway to experience the healing properties of the natural spring. The route will take you through some charming villages, including Platani, known to be the Turkish settlement on the island.

Upon returning to the Guest House, you will have some free time to relax before the evening of fitness classes. If you wish to participate, there will be a sunset pilates/yoga class that will be a perfect way to end the day after a morning of cycling.

For those who are not comfortable with longer bike rides, an E-Bike upgrade is available. Please ask for details.

Day 4

If you’re an early bird, you’ll enjoy starting Day 4 with a Pilates/yoga class. Following the class, a variety of fitness classes will be available throughout the day.

For those who want to explore the local area, you can take a bike ride and ask Gilly or Anastasia, the Guesthouse Owner, for some ideas on where to go.

Day 5

We will start Day 5 with an early morning hike up Mount Dikeos, to catch the stunning views before the sun gets too hot. A hearty breakfast is recommended before taking the organized transportation to the picturesque village of Zia, from where we will begin the moderate-level hike to the island’s highest point. The trail is also suitable for trail runners and is well signposted. Once in Zia, you can take your time to explore the village, indulge in some shopping, grab a coffee, have lunch, or visit the nature park.

After a fun-filled day, we will return to the Asklipion Valley Guest House, where you can take part in the evening’s fitness classes as per your preference.

Day 6

On Day 7, you can start the day with a fitness class and then choose your preferred activity that you have booked with Gilly at the beginning of the week. There are several options available, such as horse riding at sunset or windsurfing lessons or rentals. If you prefer some relaxation, you can visit the traditional Artemis Hamam, which offers various packages that you can choose from. You can also opt for more exploration, such as a boat trip to neighbouring islands or Turkey. Alternatively, you may want to enjoy a lazy day at one of the local beaches, and we can provide you with directions.

Day 7

On the final day of activities, start the day with either Pilates or Yoga followed by a variety of fitness classes throughout the day. If you opt to cycle to Tigaki, you can join an Aqua Fitness class in the sea. However, the classes will end early as we will head to Kos town in the evening to savor the local cuisine at the harbor, which is included in the retreat package. This is an ideal chance to purchase some last-minute souvenirs to take home.

Day 8

On departure day, it’s time to bid farewell. We’ll be sad to see you go, but hopefully, you’ll have enjoyed your stay so much that you’ll want to return. You’ll be transferred to the airport to catch your flight.

***Please note that you should have a sufficient travel insurance policy that covers the activities you wish to undertake (e.g. if you wish to do water sports/extreme sports an additional policy may be required)***
